New Octy on order

Featured Replies

Hi

Just joined the forum - have on order an Octy2 Elegance 2.0 tdi DSG with Xenon lights, 17" Pegasus wheels with sports suspension and TPM in stone grey metalic. Due to be built week commencing 23rd May.

This will be replacing my November 2002 VW Golf GTI tdi pd (150bhp) which has done 54000 miles without any problems. This Golf really flies - 0 to 60 in about 8.3 secs, averages 48.5 mpg and it has done 134mph on the German autobahns, checked against my Meridian GPS. VW have now priced themselves out of my market and you get a lot more car for your money with Skoda.

Welcome to the dark side! Yet another nicely specified car in the offing. :D

The 2.0 TDIs do seem a very popular choice don't they , and by the sounds of it their owners seem very happy.

I accept that it's a bit more than most people are used to paying for "only a Skoda" but when you price up the competition it's still cheaper than an equivalent spec Golf or Focus , and a lot cheaper than cars like the 407 which are arguably the same size.

Welcome :orb_wave:

Did you price up the same spec on the Golf that you are getting for the Octy ?

If so, just out of interest, what was the difference ?

Yes the equivalent Golf would be over

How long from order to build and then delivery did they quote you?

Welcome mcalp, I've just been told my Black Octy Elegance 2l tdi + the usual extras will be ready to collect on Friday from the dealers, AT LAST. Not bad, I've only waited 5 months, 6 days and 8 hours 30 mins since ordering, but who's counting  !! Hope that don't put you off!

Dealer had 2.0 tdi hatch on order for display - hi-jacked this order and altered details, e.g colour, dsg and the options I wanted with 3 days to spare ( according to him). Will be 6 weeks from my order to planned build (next week) and I was told should be here within 2 weeks after build. ( total of 8 weeks for me - not sure how long the dealer had it on the system before I intervened though he did originally quote 12week delivery on new orders for Octy 2.0 tdi)

Hi,

My Octy2 Tdi Elegance estate left the factory on the 18th of April it has sat in Grimsby for a fortnight now and still no sign of delivery to Scotland. Must be as frustrating for the dealers as for the customers as mileage is clocking up on my trade in.

George.
