P1296..changed CTS for original, code still there

Featured Replies

I recently had the EML come on, and the code was P1296, I changed the CTS for a original green one from Skoda, at £40 :o, but temeperature still is below 70 on the dial at motorway speeds and the EML is back on..could the thermostat be at fault? Any replies r appreciated :)

That code usually means that either the sensor or thermostat is faulty. Given that you've replaced the sensor, the most likely cause is the thermostat.

+1 thermostat

Thanks for the replies :) How much would the labour cost be to change the thermostat at a local garage..?
