Bolero with Reversing Camera

Featured Replies

Chears!

It looks like that those links are broken, for those interfaces?

I am searching for sommething like this for family Superb (MY2010) with oem Bolero...

Looks good.

Can you explain what the need for the GPS/navi box version is as the Boleros don't have any satnav? THere's something I'm obviously missing.

Interesting! Do the rear parking sensors still work with this fitted - do you still get beeps or what?

If you had parking sensor display before putting a Bolero in then it should still work.

For sat nav you'll need a Columbus or Amundsen as the Bolero does not have sat nav compatibility.

which was my point.

My question is only, can someone put valid links to those adapters for RVC to Bolero ?

It's been a couple of years since posting and the selling place must of shut down/closed

*Raises hand*

That's not a Bolero in the picture, it's the wrong shape. The buttons are wrong too.

IIRC there is no direct VW equivelant of Bolero (unlike RNS510 / Columbus and RNS 315 / Amundsen+ )

If you search for "Bolero Reverse camera" there's very little in the way of results.

Seaching for "RCD510 Reverse camera" brings a shedload of results.

However, 2 things spring to mind:

1) you'd definately need the long thin input connector.

2) given that.....

.....this question may be better asked in the Superb section ;) ;)

Yup...but, better to share any info then no info at all ;);)

Maybe, but I try and share relevant info instead of just any old info ;) ;)

Those who have an Octavia and want RVC have upgraded to a more capable head unit (Columbus or Amundsen) with the correct 26-pin input. If you don't have that input, no matter what interface and camera you buy, you won't get RVC on the screen.

Hi...yes I know...I have OEM RVC fitted into my vRS Octavia and Columbus...so no issue about that ;)

This is Bolero also

(Superb MY2010)

Er, no. Bolero's (as with Columbus, Stream, Stream MP3, Dance, Swing, Amundsen, Amundsen+) have their name, and the words Skoda Auto, printed above the CD slot.

Superb's Bolero is also taller, with more space between the columns of buttons and the knobs. Like this.......

What you appear to have is a retro-fit RCD510.....

One of the giveaways is that Bolero didn't have a lightsensor in the top right hand edge of the framing.

Boleros buttons are also different (chrome strip between them, not on the RCD510)

If you pop the trim off on yours, you'll see a metal tab in each corner with a screw through it. With a Bolero you have to remove the front of the unit to get to the screws.

So, you're in luck really, whereas Bolero never had an option for video input, the RCD510 did have that option. :)

If yours does, then you're really in luck, as you can just copy what you did with your Columbus, can't you.

This was OEM HU with the car from dealer from first day so nobody touch car for retrofiting, as far I got info...but will check that out by removing HU to confirm to you what it is ;)

Fingers cross...

What is the light sensor for on the RCD510 ?

For the brightness of the screen

So part number 3T0035156B then?

A quick search on that part number brings up.......

(I'll assume Skoda have the correct information about their own product)

Cool :) Looking forward to that picture ;)

Whilst it's out, you'll be able to see if it has the video input connector too :)

RCD510 part numbers:

What is the light sensor for on the RCD510 ?

The light sensor dynamically adjusts the brightness of the screen in reaction to the ambient light. (More than the brightness is adjusted when you put the lights on.)

Any update on this? ;)

Yes...it is a ... Bolero.

Same one thst goes to eg. into Octavia MK2.

Only diference is a front mask, there is a two kind of them, rest is the same, and have same part number.

Wow. Two completely different pieces of equipment, that are two different shapes, from two (possibly three) different manufacturers, for two completely different cars have the same part number? Sounds like you'd be playing roulette if you went and ordered one.

This is Skoda...so you can easy be suprised ;)
