Octavia Mk2 Vag Can fault code 42A1?

Featured Replies

Hi there. I have a Vag Can lead to try and find a fault with my ABS prior to the MOT. I've found this to be a faulty rear sensor.

However, whilst looking for this I have found an engine fault code as follows:

system description R4 2,0L EDC G000SG

1/1 42A1

Status: Permanent error

Any ideas what this is?

I found a reference to it here >> http://forum.vwgolf....5&t=356907 but it doesn't make much sense? EGR maybe?

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers

42A1 is not listed anywhere as a fault code, suggest you you get a fault code reader or vcds. I find Vag Commander ok for retreiving SKC codes, and key coding but it isnt in the same leage as vcds.

For future reference the fault codes you get in vag commander are listed in Hex Decimal format, just use a hex decimal convertor to get the vag code, eg. 42A1 in hex=17057
