New Brakes

Featured Replies

So I'm getting new discs and pads all round.

What are you guys using, and is there anywhere I can just buy the whole kit. It's a lot easier finding stuff for commons cars but the Superb is quite rare.

I've heard some bad stories about EBC. I don't need performance just brakes that will stop me in an emergency. I rarely use the brakes as I drive as economically as possible most of the time.

Thanks for the replies so far though.

You heard wrong...

I always get EBC, they never let you down - I buy direct from the factory here in Northampton.

Yellow stuff pads work a treat - very smelly for a while, but once they fully bed in they really have amazing stopping power.

I still like Yellows, they're really needed for a car of this size/weight and rather average brake disc size. I'm on 3rd full set of Yellow pads I think.

But EBC is in their game again, selling different pad compounds under the same colour. If only EBC could stop doing it... they did it with greens before, had a good compound for several years, then switched to some cheap and cracking alternative but still marketed under the same name. I did not return to EBC until they started selling Yellows...
