Part of my car has gone missing!

Featured Replies

WTF ?

I havn't hit anything, could somebody with a towbar have reversed into me, or could it have been half-inched ? How easy does this bit come out ?

What is that lead for? - I imagine it's the outside temp sensor...

Importantly; can I get a replacement; will it just click into place ?

Arrrgh!

I don't know what the wire is for( is your fog still working?) but the outer grille trim is only £3.50 including vat, I replaced the lower ones as they were tired  and yes push into place

Aah, marvellous - where can I get the bit ? (Should I get both sides?)

looks like it could have been worse,i never double park for this reason alway use single bays people with tow bars are always doing this to other cars .this happened to my last car a Mercedes estate just after i had the body shop tidy it up then some nerk back into it grrrrrr.

could have been alot worse i had ambulance drive into the back of me about a month ago new rear bumper / rear hatch/respray.

I'm tempted to think it's been taken to replace one that someone has lost.

I agree, especially with the lack of damage elsewhere. The wire is the external temperature sensor and lives down there. I dont recall every seeing any clipped onto anything.

I have posted on this wire and sensor.( mystery sensor) the bracket on my blacky had been bent up flat against the crossmember in the factory, if you feel under the front crossmember you will feel the bracket with hole in it bend it down by hand if its bent if not it is fairly obvious were it is, its on the right side looking at the front of the car it should be pointing downwards. insert sensor into hole, ps. its not the most secure fastening i have seen.

Top tip: if you're gonna try and cut out the number plate to hide it, don't just leave it elsewhere on the original picture like a two piece jigsaw puzzle!

Middle is £18 , depends if the new one does not match,( faded) I get discount though

Do you have a P/N to hand for that one? Slowly buying up bits for my front bumper swap :)

Had a search through invoices 1Z0853677A9B9 is the middle bottom cooling Grille ( ACTUALLY £19.42 now others are 1Z085366A9B9 AND 1Z0853666A9B9 3.53 each  I pay no vat

Lovely job, thanks

Just need to find a reasonably priced set of vRS fogs now.

Hands off! ;)

Haha, where are you based again? :p

Difficult to get the fogs out without taking the bumper off! But if you come back to the car again and the bumper's missing.....

:D

You doing front and rear vRS bumpers Steve?

I fancy replacing the rear on the estate but would want the hybrid turbo and exhaust sorting first :-)

Yep, that's the plan Andy. Both standard ones have marks on them from the previous owner, so might as well

Have seen quite a few rear vRS estate bumpers if you're interested, the rear hatch ones seem harder to find for some reason.

Oh, and those other things you have planned are highly recommended ;)

Just a quick thanks to SkodaParts.com - mega service - thank you!

After fitting the part; I can see no way that it would have been knocked off without damage elsewhere or fallen off - I think it must have been nicked.
