Just bought a new 2.0 Diesel Octavia Elegance Hatch to replace an X type jag Estate which has let me down badly. Really just come on here to pass the time waiting for my new toy. Would have waited for the new Octavia but I did not want or need such a big car as the X type and it looks like the new Octavia will be about the same size. Why do models always seem to get bigger? Plus the last old Octavias are being discounted and having driven a couple of them courtesy of my local dealer rather liked them.

I agree, when I come to change it won't be to an Octavia III as the one I have is a tad too big already. I don't like the look of the Rapid and the Fabia is a bit on the small side for me so, who knows.

I like the Octy and shame they are replacing it.

Thanks for the welcome chaps. I looked at a Rapid which would probably be big enough but with the Ocy going for similar money and with more engine options decided against.

Could not be too picky about the exact spec* on the Ocy obviously as no more hatches being built but at least by same token delivery wait should not be too long, fingers and everything crossed. Good comms from my local dealer Preston Motors.

*But it is black and leather and has almost all the toys I had on the Jag plus one or two.
