has anyone got any fancy hints and tips to cleaning the exterior windows? ive got some deep ingraned dirt/flies that wont sponge off.

I don't know about it happening again, but a good wiping with Glass Cutter, and then Glass Polish, brings up my glass a treat, especially the windscreen. So much so, the little tiny chips in the glass show up really bad.

A large hair net on the windscreen?

Use a Paint Rubber on them, and all the ingrained dirt will be removed easily.
