Clutch replace

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

Can anyone advise please..................... My clutch has gone on octavia and I am not sure if car has been converted to sf or still dmf. It may be a daft question but are the clutches different for both ?

Thanks in advance

I have 220,000 miles on clock on my 05 plate 1.9 tdi classic model and have ran it as a taxi from approx 130,000.It was a taxi from an early age i believe. since i got it have never replaced clutch and the owner before me said she never done clutch. Now, The first owner........I don't know if he may have converted to solid flywheel. Am I right in thinking the DMF would not last this long and has already been converted ?

I think that it is just a matter of luck with a DMF, but the old style single flywheel jobs used to last well unless abused. You may wish to read my thread which I am about to ressurect.
