Just found this on my XP computer at home, backdoor trojan that messes up Internet Explorer I believe, resets homepage etc. Tried to remove it last night but cant delete it, used Killbox in Safe Mode, but still on there, any ideas how to remove? Have dl'ed Crap Cleaner, anyone tried it, would this work?

This is part of the trojan smitfraud.c - we had the devil of a job getting it all cleaned off a work PC last week. There are a whole lot of other files you need to remove also. Search for smitfraud.c in google. Lots of articles out there.

Starting in safe mode should let you just delete the files, though. We didn't have a problem deleting them once we found them. Downloaded killbox too only to find we didn't need it. Strange :rubchin:
