Gear Change Issue

Featured Replies

Hi. Not long ago I had to fit a new part that connects the gear linkage cable to the gear selector that sits on top of the AHF engine. I'm having trouble getting 1st and 3rd gear. I usually get these gears on the second attempt but never the first.

The clutch was only fitted last year and I have tested that and it doesn't seem to be slipping. I am wondering if I should adjust the gear linkage.

Any ideas?

Linkage reset is required, plenty of info via search :)

Cool. So its all about taking the slack out of both cables. Will this method work on the 99 octavia tdi slx mk1? Engine code is AHF.

I have a problem. As you will see in the images my gear leaver and selector stock are different. There is no hole on the gear leaver to lock it in the home position and there is no lock key on the stock. Also I cant see a way of adjusting the slack on the cables.
