Changing front wings

Featured Replies

So ive had my little fabia for about 3 months now and its my first car and ive gone and damaged her. Ive put a big dent in the front left wing, im just wondering how hard it is to repair this yourself as ive seen you can get the wings online and want to save on the repair bill if possible by putting the new one on myself and then get it sprayed. So after some advice really, has anyone taken one off and changed it and is it a tough task. Many thanks. Ryan

Hi Ryan, my advice would be to get some quotes from a body shop. Bolt on wings are unlikely to fit and will need adjusting so that they are in line. They also need paint prep prior to fitting and then a proper paint job once on. A DIY job almost always looks exactly that unless you have considerable skill and the tools for the job. Good luck whatever you decide.

Genuine wings are not all the expensive and will have a better chance of fitting alot easier than aftermarket ones.

The body shop quoted me 250 to fit a new wing paint it and fix my bumper. They are the best around here too, so ill get them to do it. Can't wait till she's back as new :)
