citigo wet passenger foot well

Featured Replies

Hello All. I have owned a new citigo green tech75 bhp Elegance 5 door for two months. Great little car. Love the handling and the economy. Couple of comments:

Shortly after buying we noticed a wet carpet in the passenger foot well. Took car back to the dealer. They were very helpful and after a thorough search discovered a leaking joint in the wheel arch. A small area between spot welding joints had not been sealed properly with sealant. All sorted now. No further problems, but out of interest has anyone out there experienced the same problem?

Second thing. How do you find closing doors on the citigo? On my 5 door version unless you close by holding the door handle it never closes fully. We are used to it now but it can be a bit irritating for passengers not in the know.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Welcome

Glad you got your issue sorted quickly :)

Do you find that it is all doors that need to be held shut ? as sometimes if 1 door is open while others are shut there is no problem, it will just be the last door shut that needs to be held.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. It's the shutting of the doors when your outside the car that doesn't seem to be quite right. On most cars we have had in the past if you just push the doors using your hand anywhere along the panel adjacent or near the handle they usually it click into the fully closed position without any problem.

We find with the 5 door citigo that unless you grip the door handle as you close it the door will not click fully into place. It's OK once you get used to doing this but invariably passengers who get out of the car and are not familiar with this characteristic slam the door shut but it doesn't close fully (I am always having to lean over to the passenger side to close the door properly after them). Same with the rear doors as well.

I was wondering if it is because on the 5 door versions the door panels are particularly light and don't have the weight of the 2 door which is longer and heavier. It's only a small issue, but wonderfing if any one else has experienced this with the 5 door citigo?

No problems with water ingress or door closing on my 5 door citigo.

Two months, 2,300 miles and you can hold the door anywhere when you shut it.

Possibly it's because being a new car you have to hold it, rather than let go of the door before it shuts and let momentum do the rest?

The doors do close firmly, so you can't let go of them before they shut unless you use a fair amount of force in the swing.
