Am a Landrover fanatic ( yes, I know someone has to be) however the running cost of my D2 is getting severe especially as I do a lot of miles. so, looking for an economic, good value for money motor and thought Skoda.

So, what is the best and most economic estate to get for about 2k?

I live North Yorkshire, am an aircraft engineer so do m own maintenance, love travel, caravanning, photography and my dogs :-))

Looking fwd to being an active member of the forum if I get a Skoda (which I probably will!.

Enough room for you in a Mk1 Fabia estate? 1.9 TDI PD100 would be the one to go for there, preferably in Elegance spec.

Or a Mk1 Octavia Estate, again 1.9TDI. 130bhp version would be the choice I reckon and should be in range with your budget.

Both would serve you well, and the 1.9TDi PD engine is known for being reliable, plus well known and understood.
