Simple service indicator question

Featured Replies

Hi,

Very quick question I'd be grateful if someone could answer for me.

My car (2005 Octavia 1.9 TDi) is currently indicating that a service is due in 200 miles. This is obviously counting down and I probably won't be able to get is serviced before it reaches zero. Does anything actually happen when it does reach zero other than it continuing to warn me it needs servicing? I assume not, but thought I'd check!

Thanks

Fear not, nothing will blow up or drop off! I went a couple of hundred miles over before my last service. It will just flash the word "service" at you every time you start up and drive off.
