Offside Heated Wing Mirror

Hi everyone, this is my first post here since a problem has occurred with an offside heated wing mirror on my 2008 Mk2 Fabia Estate 3 1.4

I noticed one morning last week that it wasn’t working whereas the nearside was ok. I have taken both mirror glasses out and swapped for testing purposes the offside to the nearside and it started to warm up with the engine running.

With a multi meter there is 13v on the nearside spade connectors but nothing on the offside connections. With the meter set to ohms I got about 9ohms from each mirror circuit.

After this I removed a black polystyrene cover above the foot pedals to expose a set of relays behind the fuse box, with a finger held on each in turn I operated the heated mirror control to hear and feel the relay operate. I narrowed it down to one or two on the far left facing forward judging by the vibration I felt.

I think the problem may lay with the relay or switch, but logic tells me that the manufacture would have put one relay in to work both heated circuits, if that is true, the switch is fine because the relay is heard to be activating.

I am not sure how to remove a relay and feel a bit reluctant to push on in case I break something.

Could there also be a software error code which is causing this failure? A main dealer hook up might be very expensive.

Any suggestions or help would be very much appreciated.
