1.8T Tiptronic question

Featured Replies

I recently installed a big turbo setup on my 2006 Skoda Superb 1.8T with the Tiptronic transmission (yes I know about the torque capacity). When I floor the car the tiptronic trasmission sometimes goes into limp mode ((all the gear position indicator lights on my instrument panel are highlighted). I am wondering if anyone knows why this is? When I shut off the ignition and restart the car, this problem disappears.

Thank you

I think what your car is trying to tell you is: you overdid the turbo...

Thanks... The code I am getting is 17968/P1560/005472 - 17968 - Maximum Engine Speed Exceeded (Engine Warranty VOID! ? ) . I think what happened is that my custom engine tune altered the rev limiter on the engine, but the transmission control module only knows from the original rev limit. Anyone have any idea how I can recode this rev limiit for the transmission?

Maybe by getting the car remapped (custom map) as this will alter the parameters for your particular car, in theory taking into account the turbo etc.
