ZKW lenses - size and source?

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm looking to improve my lights further by fitting zkw lenses in place of my Fresnel ones. Does anyone know the size required along with a source please? They're Bi-Xenon's - I've measured them roughly from the outside of the lens and they look to be around 7cm diameter, maybe more..... So I think they may require the 3" ZKW lenses...... Any help from anyone with a headlight lying around at home gratefully received!

Ta.

Simon.

Stunts out of interest, do you have hid or halogen lights? i ask as im wanting to change the lense on my halogen lamps as they seem a dull yellowy colour.

You never know. The lenses (I'm talking of the projector beam lens - not the main plastic lens) my be the same....

I have ordered some zkw-r lenses from trs in the US of a. Time will tell if they'll fit.... :)

They are 3", just specify Hella E55 to any specialist place in the USA and they will know exactly what you need :-)

I looked into removing the projectors but could not find a way of doing so without Dremel. I find it annoying the lights project a blob of yellow in the middle, this I think is due to the lenses being made of cheap plastic.

But you might be able to do an in-situ replacement by just loosening the projector screws (4x), this enables the projector to be lifted 2 inches off the base and then through the side (remove the high beam bulb cover) access the lens etc with a screwdriver. This is how I will clean my lenses with a lint free cloth soaked in isopropanol, but I think bending the 4x tabs for the lens should be possible with this approach - but fiddly.
