Rear wash jet

Featured Replies

could some one please take a photo of where the rear jet wash pipe comes from the pump because it has come loose and probrably poped off :( and i cant see any pipes anywhere!!! thanks

The pipe usually pops off on the right hand side of the bulkhead as you look into the bay. operate the washer and youll soon see where it is.

I have had that come off. You'll need to check under the bonnet, at the back right, coming out of the bulkhead.

The other place I have had it pop out is at the back, causing the rear left passenger footwell to get a bit damp. If you pull off the plastic fitting around the door, there is a connection at about shoulder level, behind the plastic. That was a bit of a b****r to find and fix, but easy once you know where!

Open bonnet.

Look just to the center right of the engine cover at the back about 12" down.

You will see 3 horizontal metal tubes.

The rear wash tube ends are in that area - close by.

The 2 tubes can be reached with 1 hand.

The connectors are quite easy to re-connect BEHIND the 3 horizontal tubes.

The rear tube water was probably frozen and the pump pressure found the weak spot at

the connector when you kept 'trying' it.

You would have heard the pump working but seen no water on the rear screen.

It was being pumped out on to the road every time you tried it.

You would have also noticed the low wiper wash level light coming on more frequently as you drove around and not realising why.

Hope this helps.
