Buying a Fabia Monte Carlo - new owner/user

Featured Replies

Agreed to buy a 105ps Monte this afternoon. Trading down from a bigger car - jaguar x-type - but the fabia felt big enough and the engine felt reassuringly punchy compared to other small cars I've driven. I can imagine how much fun I'm going to have in the Fabia on some great country roads. Looks different to other small cars too - in a very good way.

First time buying a Skoda but I'm already excited about getting the car. First thing another Skoda driver suggested was registering for this forum.

Hi and welcome aboard.

When do you pick up the new Fabia.

Not entirely sure yet gallego.

Dealer was supposed to be securing a reb/black Monte Carlo that's currently in transit. Not sure if he's been able to book it yet or if it'll be the next lot of cars. Have been told that it could be as early as Dec 18th if he can get the car that's en-route. If not then it'll likely be mid January.

Standard factory spec so theres no issue with getting anything fitted. I strongly suspect the rival dealer I went to first have booked the car that was in transit out of badness as they went from a 3-month delivery (when I was in getting a test drive) to "I can get you a car within a fortnight" when they were trying to get me back.

Hello ClanFanAl and welcome along

Dealer just informed me that he has secured a car. Currently in production with an expected delivery later in December or early January. It would be great to have the car for when I'm off work over the festive period as it'll take a bit of getting used to (moving from an X-type but I've driven hatchbacks before) but even if it's January, that's still around 6 weeks from agreeing to buy to actually taking possession.

Not bad at all considering the first dealer I went to told me I wouldn't get one sooner than March 2013 (and that my trade in would reflect the value of my car in March). Thankfully I chased them and went elsewhere.

Good to hear, sure you'll be happy with it
