heko wind deflectors

Featured Replies

hope someone can help. I recently bought heko wind defelectors for my vrs. I've used heko before without any probs.

Trouble is, whenever the glass gets near the deflector, it automatically stops and opens fully. I guess its the fail safe to stop people getting hurt.

I've never had this before on other vag cars. To me it seems over sensitive.

anyone else had any probs, or am I just the lucky one?

yip. think all hekos are 4 piece sets. ebay. theres loads. just need to scan through to find the cheapest, as they vary

Had this problem when i fitted them to the mrs astra. Have you pht the little metal clips in the channel aswell ?

It is pinch protection.

To my knowledge I think you can actually override it, the procedure to do it however eludes me right now.

Might just need reset? Roll it all the way up and hold it for a few seconds.

Obviously check for any obstruction first :p

im going to tackle it again tomorrow. Weather willing. I had a leon before with heko's. Without this issue. A fresh look tomorrow might show something. I did only try the drivers side before it started to rain. Just seemed odd that my leon would happily touch the deflector, and would even push it further into the door without any probs. Just seems my vrs is being a bit over sensitive. I might look into turning down/off the anti pinch etc if the issue doesnt get resolved easy.

Aup buddy I have the same 4 peice set an had the same problem I found that putting a bit of Vaseline on the rubber first then fitting the wind deflectors

the problem is in the corners where the rubber sits you have to make sure that the rubber isnt pushing against the deflector

Ace, thank you very much for the info mate....there's so many different ones on eBay I wasn't sure which way to go.

No probs bud. I looked for ages typing different stuff then one night found those, they come from the eu somewhere, very well packaged up. I would recommend them.

Will be ordering them after my next pay check...been looking for ages so big thanks.
