Front track control arm bushes worn

Featured Replies

Causing inner tyre wear on both fronts.

I'm thinking of getting just the bushes done rather than the arms, but is there a sensible 'upgrade'. I don't want to reduce ride comfort, so I guess polybushes aren't going to be the best idea.

But I notice GSF list standard and premium. Given that I've got a heavy old lump up the front, does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks in anticipation.

I don't think it's economically viable to change the bushes - they come with the arms, and the arms are not that expensive

I just changed my ones

Two arms with bush kit . Parts come with 1 year warranty

So 50 per year it ok but surly they will last longer then that

My ball joints always used to go before the bushes. With that in mind, I wouldn't bother messing about with the bushes

Yeah good points, cheers.

There's also the point of labour in terms of the time to drift the old ones out and new ones in. And the ball joints going t1ts up shortly after.

Garage called up earlier and to replace the control arms and CV gaiter will be £360 :|

Jog on.

is that PARTS & FITTING ?

in London i got my parts (arms with bush kit and 1 gaiter) and fitting for £200

if u spend £60 for fuel to come to see my friend then u still save £100

It certainly is :|

Sounds a bit steep to you as well then!

I'm dropping it off at the garage that works on my wife and sons cars 8am Monday for them to give me a quote. They're sensible chaps and want to see first before they commit to a price. If it's reasonable I'll ask them to go ahead, but if they're not I may well come back to you if that's okay.

Once that's all done I'm swapping tyres front to back and putting two new ones on the front. Undecided as to whether to go for Eagle F1's or Pilot Sport 3's. The Michelin's seem to be £112 fitted via Blackcircles - or £130 from my local tyre place!
