More help needed guys pulling my hair out now

Featured Replies

Hey guys

Well two days ago I took the inlet manifold off to change all the vac breather pipes under it

Replaced the lot ,car ran fine for a day

Went out to it tonight starts fine and ran fine for 5 mins then the revs died and it started sounding like a tractor with the occasional pop

If you rev it the revs are slow to build up and then all of a sudden it's fine and ticks over fine for a couple of mins then sounds like a tractor again

No lights come on on the dash

Could it be the egr if so where is it and how easy is it to get off and clean

Cheers in advance guys

Have you maybe dislodged a coil pack? So its kinda connected then other times not? Or it could be a dodgy coil pack, just coincidental timing.

Does it sound like a coil pack mate its doing my nut in lol

Sounds like a coilpack to me, usually would be accompanied by a flashing EML though, though mines have a couple of stutters before the EML came on ...

Pretty dam sure actually its worth cleaning the throttle body, in fact I'm most certain. Annoyed I didn't think of it sooner.

I had to do my #3 coil last week. Although running like a bag of 2h!73 the eml only came on after driving half a mile or so and go back off on idle. Car was running on 3 regardless of engine speed. Driving or stationary .

Aye, has it had them replaced recently?

Not had them replaced since having he car so will try that cleaned the tb not long ago lofty

I hand I in my head it was the egr for some reason

There isn't one on your engine. Coil packs it would seem to be. A scan would reveal a misfire on cylinder x, but sounds like it could do with all being replaced

Is the recall still going? Im getting mine done next time I'm on the mainland. As there is no skoda garage on the island they are keeping my case open till the next time I go away.
