Decline in Fabia production

Featured Replies

Just received the chassis number for our soon (hopefully) to be delivered Monte. By chance the car is almost exactly to the day 3 years newer than my lads 2009 Fabia 1 HTP, in terms of both build and registration date.

So I've just compared the chassis numbers of the two cars and it would appear Skoda possibly built 39,000 more MY10 Fabia's than it has MY13 in the same period. Think that's quite some decline in production.

Believe I read somewhere that in 09 they were building about 1200 a day, partly fuelled by the various scrappage schemes going on at the time.

As another thought, this may also be why the VAT offer continues for models like the Fabia, as their popularity fades with the impending prospect of a new model.

New Fabia vRS on the horizon?!?

Doubt it - new Fabia MK3 will be out 2014 and expect the vRS to be out late early 2015.

Good :D

You can rest assured that the current vRS should be with us for at least another year, before they do a run out model in an obscure colour with different wheels and leather that I may just have to buy rofl :)

What I am miffed about with 2012 Fab vRS is lack of leather option and HIDs...

That means there will be no vRS when I need to order my next one :@

Need or want Phil? :)

I would happily wait for a run out model with extras :D

I'd be happy with a run-out model - right up until someone driving the 'new' car pulled up at the lights next to me with a smug look on their face...... ;-)

Alas there one wouldn't be the new vRS for a year or more so smugness mode can stay on :D

My car change point is 60k/3 years whichever comes first - I do about 30k a year. Which means this one will be due for change Mid-2014 :(
