Not sure if anyone else has had this problem yet, but I took my vRS for its first MOT today (not a Skoda dealer). And it nearly got failed or I nearly got an extra bill.

The issue surrounded the two sidelights in the headlight unit which we all know don't get used (and I believe aren't even wired up). Having waited for 45 minutes I asked if there was a problem and was informed that both my sidelight bulbs had failed and they were looking to see how quickly they could replace them.

It took me 10 minutes of persistance and demonstrating that the side lights on the vRS are the DRLs. So in the end I got my pass certificate.

But for anybody else about to go for an MOT it might be worth mentioning this up front in case the MOT testers don't know.

Skoda shouldn't have used the same headlights as the rest of the range.

A couple of plastic plugs instead of the blue bulbs would have been simple enough to do.

One extra part number though.

I did expect this very thread to be started at some point Luckily by the time mine is 4 years old and needs its first MOT they should be used to them.

I know, three years here too But moving back to UK next year and it's 4 years in Northern Ireland (5 year warranty will come in handy)
