'Tyre Grip, Black Ice Protection'

Featured Replies

Bought a couple of cans of this last winter, but never needed it.

Got 'winters' now, so given a can to Ree jnr and another one to Mrs Ree to keep in their cars.

Anyone ever used this stuff? Any good, and does it actually do what it says on the tin I wonder?

Better had do something at 15 snotters a tin.

Protection for up to 80kms...apparently.

Give us a clue (or even better, a link), what is it?

Spray on 'keep you going in the snow and ice' grippy liquid stuff.

I'll see if i can find a link of some sort.

I saw that too and thought, nawww.

But you never know.

I know a woman who could use a quick squirt of that stuff.

Coat got, ttfn.

What I'd like to know, is do you have to remove any snow build up before you spray this 'gloop' on?

Seems reasonably convincing for a reasonable product from that.

gotta take your hat off to marketing people I suppose. Couple of tins of that stuff and you would have paid the additional cost of a pair of decent winter tyres and had the benefit for 20,000 miles not just 2 (if that!)

300% increase on nothing is still nothing ;)

If this works then it seems a good idea. All it would need to do would give enough traction to get you moving if you got stuck. Would be easier to apply than snow socks that i just bought. If id known about this i may have given it a go. Doesnt really matter if it lasted only a few miles after application as generally once you get moving after being stuck you tend not to get stuck again. Handy for getting home if nothing else. Has anyone actually used any? At only £16 im still tempted.

Good find.

Don't seem to be able to enlarge that piccy George, so consequently can't see the probable joke.

Socks on wrong wheels by any chance? :)

Your avatar btw. Is that a Jimny by chance?

I must say I am pretty keen on getting a set of these, however if its rear wheel drive like the 1 series above shouldn't they be on the driving wheels ?

Must have just popped in for his medication. If this was a member of my family i would be ashamed. Funnily enough there was a survey carried out by BMW themselves and the results showed that a large proportion of 1 series owners didnt know which wheels were driven. Boggles the mind.

Oh my giddy aunt :( the joys of rear wheel drive, feel sorry for her though :( , to be honest I wouldn't have a clue either in a rear wheel drive

I've got all this to look forward too.

That survey result doesn't surprise me too much either!

Would you be interested in my range of chocolate fire guards and tea pots?
