Finally got confirmation regarding what I can 'get away with'

* Handsfree kit - they recommended declaring it, so it it explicitly covered, but it would otherwise have been anyway. Free.

* PD160 air intake - declare it & it's free.

* Green filter - explained it was a replacement for the standard filter. No need to declare & it's free

* Strut brace - declare it & it's free.

* Remap - had to give increase in bhp (not by percentage, just actual). Gave figure of 40 bhp based on AMD's site mentioning that (I know, could be more, could be less). Won't insure me with that.

The way I approached it (remap & green filter aside ;))

* All parts are VAG group parts

* All parts have no impact on bhp (which is true within margin of error, really)

* Dealer will fit them and warranty won't be voided by it.

The Green Filter:

* It's a replacement for the standard filter, so effectively it is a user-servicable part. No changes to engine.

Remap:

* Just asked, kinda expecting a NO as this is not a mod-friendly insurer, generally speaking.

Basically I'm impressed that all which they did allow was free, minimum of fuss and just have to write a letter stating what I'm fitting and when. I thus ordered the parts from the Seat dealer nearby.

On that note - the bloke I spoke with (Newbury-based Seat) said he used to work for Skoda before and that he really thought the vRS was excellent :D

Gave him the part numbers of the guides here and all should be arriving hopefully on Wednesday :D

Just hoping I can get it fitted before we go on holiday now ;)

Declared Jabba remap to Norwich Union and no problem, 10% loading on policy which is naff all and worth every penny (remap that is) :thumbup:

I will ask once I've got my UK-issued license, mainly as with my Dutch license I'm excluded from a lot of deals.

10% would definitely be fine.

Can I ask what kinda NCB & price you're paying + age and stuff?

If you prefer PM that's cool, it's just to get an idea.

I'm 30+ so age doesn't come into it (I hope) but I do business miles on it at 20k/year or more (most likely).

Tnx though as my broker does deal with NU.

Both my wife and i insured to drive, she is first (full NCD ) and both over 30. The policy has private and business class plus break down cover, iv'e also got 3 points on my license (was 6) which is also declared. The new policy document has just come through and is around the

i pay 438 iirc at 25 with 6 points sp50 and sp60 5 years no claims with the girlfriend too 24 with an sp30 thats on 15k a year

Nice - my Mrs has provisional so that's why she won't be in the policy ;)
