Fabia vrs thermostat location

Featured Replies

Hi peeps,

I dunno if I am being blind but I reckon to have looked for the thermostat to change it due to blowers not giving out decent heat and I can't find it. I have looked along rad pipes to try trace it and like I say I am probably being blind but any of you any advice??

How far are you driving to warm it up, having looked into it anything less than 6 or 7 miles the engine wont warm up anyway, i plugged the android torque app into mine and it is just slow to warm up !

Driving it for at least 50 plus miles. Flushed coolant through both ways to eliminate air lock and def not that. Only gets mildly warm so id of thought it has to be thermostat but any advice welcomed. I expect in these cold times it will take longer but even at normal engine temp after ling drives it wont blow hot .

I had mine changed on Monday for same reason. Still no change in the heating thou after a 12 mile hike to work. Looks like something else causing mine problems, the radiator not even getting warm- back to the garage ?

Assuming it's the same place as on my PD150 Golf, it's somewhere near the lower front left of the engine. IIRC it bolted into the block itself, but don't quote me on that as I can't check anymore!

Hi mate

Thanks I ll have a closer look. You would think it's same location. Yours the ARL lump then?

I'd assume so, same engine block.

I've got rid of the Golf (happily!) so can't check for you. I guess it must be quite easy to see as I managed to find it! ;)

Lol cheers. It is in same location ye. Done it today. Although still seems to have the problem although does get a bit warmer it soon cools if u put heaters on full speed . Bit odd.

Did you not like your golf then?

Glad it's changed, wonder why it's still not happy though? Airlock in the system?

Nope, horrid car. Didn't like the engine (noise and power delivery), plus it never ran 100% properly, it creaked/rattled like mad and has the worse handling of any car I've ever driven, but still wasn't all that comfy.
