After a few weeks of looking I've managed to find my DX code but the unit is now in 'Safe' mode and I can't select the numbers. Does anyone know how I get it out of safe mode without a trip to the dealer and parting with mucho deniro?

Very simple, disconnect, I dont know how much time(3 hours I think it will be enough) and than connect it again with car and then put code.

If it is original stereo for the car, then car will recognize it after a while and should come out of safe. Also you can just take the fuse out for the radio for some hours and try then.
