Been a while since I've been here, but am posting to ask advice for my mum, whose Fabia II is having a problem with the boot latch.

Sometimes when you close the boot, it doesn't latch and just opens again. You can shut it gently or slam it harder and it just doesn't shut.

It requires playing around with the bit in the middle of the latch and hoping it will close eventually. It's really putting her off using the boot, which is clearly not a good thing.

Does it just need lubrication or is the latch utterly broken and needing replacement?

Maybe a visit to local dealers or to a body workshop to adjust the latch. There are two torx (I think) screws that let the latch - hinge to slide at a proper position.

Try spray it with wd40 or similar
