A test for Shakey

BSB will be interesting in 2020

I watched this on "click". Absolutely amazing. When they dragged it sideways with a jeep and it never fell over i was gobsmacked.

Very clever technology but i doubt it would be cheap. Needs to be cheaper than a small city car but i cant see it TBH. You wont be able to nip through traffic like a proper motor bike can so basically you are a car on two wheels.

Despite this it would be great fun on the open road as it offers deecnt leaning over type bike thrills with some of the crash protection of a car.

probably more of a "weekend" toy than a serious city commuter tool.

Do i wnat one?? Too right. I bet it would take you a while to accept that it wont fall over, serioulsy need to reconfigure your instincts.

What im more interested in though is electric motor bike technologies. They tested an electric offroad bike on gadget show a couple of years back and it was pretty effective. I would by an electric "scrambler" in a heart beat. This is assuming i would be permitted to then use said vehicle on the numerous tracks etc up here in Scotland. I used to venture up some on my old petrol bikes but i believe this is somewhat frowned upon. Hopefully an electric bike would be permitted.

You Englanders dont know how lucky you are with your greenlaning.

Motor Cycle News Now regularly carries adverts for brand new electric bikes. They are coming into the mainstream market, of that there is no doubt.

The Isle of Man TT have been running an e class race for a number of years. I think it was this year that Tony Rutter became the first rider to average over 100mph on an electric machine. I think they have a much stronger future than cars because of the weight issue and range.

As for the gyro bike, it's amazing, but hardly a substitute for a traditional motorbike experience.

I had a look on a website after posting. "Zero" i think was called and they already sell electric bikes and the dirt bike looks the nuts. Think it was an american company but at least the technology is sound. I really fancy one, just need to suss out the legality issue of using an electric dirt bike on Scottish trails.

I suppose you could have a BRS to enable you to flip from gyro to sans gyro in order to have the option of experiencing something like a motor bike experience - or even a rheostat :giggle: . Wonder if the big-boys might adopt a scaled-down version for installation on the mainstream stuff so as to provide extra stablisation on the tilt ? - eminently transferrable to cars .
