I think my clutch is on the way out as it as become

rather rattling.i tow a caravan with mine and i have also

fried it a few times,it as done 167k which i think is

good for a clutch(until some bright spark responds with

done million miles on one clutch)

my qeustion is

checked on euro car parts and they list two makes.

LUK and SACH'S for my model 1.9 tdi classic 2007

the price is virtually the same with the 25% discount

just over £300 .

which is the better clutch?

+1 for Sachs.

Is the 1.9tdi a dual-mass flywheel? Worth finding out, as if it is, at that mileage it's almost certainly going to be shot after towing - and may well be the cause of the rattling and require replacement. Sadly, replacing it will be expensive... unless you choose to do a SMF conversion, but I have no experience of them on the VAG engines.

Really? I thought the Sachs DMF would be about £300 on its own.
