Glovebox removal?!?

Featured Replies

I need to remove the door from my glovebox BUT the door doesn't open fully.

Having read some of the threads about CD changers etc it seems I need to get at the torx screws inside to remove the whole box...but can I remove the door while being only able to open it a bit? I need to buy some torx spanners next week so will be able to undo the two screws just under the box but just wondering if I'm on a hiding to nothing :(

(what's happened is a PDA stylus has got caught in the hinge in such a way that when the door is opened it grips it tighter. I've got the stylus itself out by threading in some duct tape...but it was a 3-in-1 stylus that is also a pen...and now it's just the cap that's stuck in the hinge :mad::mad: . I've got no chance of getting it out with either removing the door, or picking the car up tilting it sideways and shaking...)

If you want to take the whole lot out (its no easy task to get he door off without breaking it) but have limited room get yourself down to Halfords. They do thier own bit set that comes with a double ended 10/8mm ratchet spanner. The bits have little o rings on them so they push into the ends of the spanner. Means you have a very shallow reach T25 torx to get in there. I bought one of these sets ages ago (they still do em) and not a day goes by when I dont use it.
