Owl noise...?

Featured Replies

Heard a couple of vrs's around my way making this owl like ooooo! Noise when the car is on over run, I know that's from the turbo, but was wondering how's its amplified? Something to do with the zorst?

Putting a decat on normally makes the sound mate

can also be a sign the bearings are on the way out!

Can't believe peeps like that sound lol I personally can't stand it. Each to their own and all that.

I quite like it :)

Search mufflerectomy, something along those lines!

Some mufflerectomy don't do it and some do.?

Never heard a decatted diesel, or mfrec'd - id love to hear it though! YouTube doesn't quiet cut it

Mine does it but you have to drive it in a certain way. I might get a decat then ill have a turbo back with no cat or silencer!

Growler! Oosh

A mate of mine had an owl noise coming from the rear end of his car once. He was a registered falconer and the noise went when he took the owl out of the car HTH.

Was it one of those really common owls - most commonly found in the kitchen

What? The lesser spotted teat owl?

mines de-catted and i dont get the owl noise. so imo youd have to de-cat and take back box off. basically mufflerectomy. some people hate it some others dont. i think it sounds good ;) anyone asks just say their is a couple of pigeons in your engine :p

I'm going to do it then get one of those owl warning stickers! :p

I have a custom turbo back system and THANK GOD it dosent make that noise :D

Only sounds good on petrols, the megs turbo chatter along with pops from over run were awesome.

I miss it too badly :(

Hmm, thanks for the responses guys, ive already cut the cat out of the zorst and replaced it with a straight piece of pipe, and still no noise, so im going to have to remove the backbox also?

For info, my hybrid did it like mad with a full piper no silencer system. It also sounded **** at idle

Haha ive de-catted mine, its still running the standard backbox, but still no noise, maybe time to cut it out.

Does it actually sound good with a Decat and standard catback?
