Fabia vRS engine sound deadening

Featured Replies

Well here's a thought?

As far as I am aware the Fabia vRS already has sound deadning on the bonnet.

But whilst looking to upgrade my ice I had a thought:

The dynamat type sound deadening, could I use this to to do my bonnet and then replace the standard sound deadening, do you think this may have a small difference on the diesel sound of the car when standing outside?

Cheers

Got my whole car done (well, except for the door panels as decided it was too risky) as per my sig ;)

Certainly made an improvement, it's just more muted kinda.

You can do it yourself as well, and that should save you a bit, problem is that postage of the materials is probably pretty costly.

All soundproofing done to mine was in addition to the stuff already there.

I was just thinking of doing the bonnet, and anywhere else I can reach to in the engine bay, just to reduce the diesel clatter, you can here outside.

Bonnet seemed pretty easy - take some of the existing clips out so you can get to it, then drop in the material, put the cover back over & you're done.

The rest of the engine compartment is too filled up to get to :(

Hmmmm food for thought, as I'll be diong the doors soon...
