Tiptronic Mileages ?

Featured Replies

Picked up my Superb on Thursday with 71k on the clock. Just wonder what sort of Mileages these boxes can do as its my first auto for about 10 years.

The high torque of the diesel engines makes these cars prone to munching through torque converter auto boxes. VAG fully realise this and developed the DSG (twin clutch automated synchro box) for the later transverse cars as a result. It's a pity they don't seem to have finished the development and are using the customer as a test bed - as usual. Google Chinese warranty DSG.

I'm not a user of auto boxes, but it seems frequent fluid/filter changes (not a cheap job) and gentle engine use makes them last a bit longer.

rotodiesel.

They also have major problems with the new DSG systems.

As stated above,

rotodiesel.

I had my 2.5 tdi auto for 1.5 year and not changed oil yet and it's sounds like washing machine already

By the way my one just done 96k miles

Mine did 250,000 before I sold it and was still going strong.

i scrapped one with 186k on the clock after cambelt failure. Gearbox was untouched and all good.

Thanks for the reply guys. Had mine from a main dealer with 3 months warranty but I think I will bite the bullet and extend it by another 12 months. It's going back in on Tuesday with the 'Emissions Workshop' light on and a problem with the auto box when going into gear from Park. Every now and then all the gear lights on dash are lit and you have to turn off then on again.
