URGENT aux belt tensioner bolt gone loose

Featured Replies

Had a noise thought it was the alternator. Seems one of the bolt holding the aux belt tensioner arm is loose. It's the one right by the pulley ona BXE 1.9 tdi. What's the best way to get at it at home?

To make access easier, just pull the engine cover off, it pulls up from the front then just slide it towards you, you should then be able to get at it

Nope found out the aux belt will need the tensioner pulley cover to come off to get access to the bolt. Hence the aux belt will need to be un-tensioned to do this. More than I can really do at home. The bolt must nope have been tightened properly when the cambelt was done. Gonna low loader it to the garage tomorrow, don't want to risk snapping the remaining mounts.
