Hello. I am in the process of fitting a new foltage regulator to my 1.3 Felicia. Thing is, I can't get it to fit and the carbon bushes are much bigger than the ones on the old regulator. I put that down to wear but I am thinking maybe they are too big in the first place?

Old is on the right, new is on the left.

You failed to tell us if part numbers (old/new) are the same and the company that made the new 'foltage' regulator.

It is a known fact that many aftermarket parts are made on a boat in China Sea then wrapped in fancy European packages. It's called trade and we've got plenty of them in here.
