Battery change

Featured Replies

So ive just changed my battery (with significant help from a friend) on my mk1 54 plate vrs, and **** me what a struggle it was... air box and everything ended up coming out, only did it myself cause someone said it would be easy! Maybe i did more than necessary, anyone else find it a huge pain?

Moral is, id now advise any mk1 vrs owner to just get a garage to do it haha..

Why did you take the air box out? I changed mine a couple of weeks ago and it was purely a case of remove the battery cover, undo the terminals, then undo the retaining clip and then lift out the old battery. 5 minute job

I couldnt get to the clip without all the casing removed cause my ratchet extension wasnt long enough :/

Under the battery compartment (eg remove it) and you'll see a small lid.
