Hi I started my car today on a cold start, a 2012 vrs blackline and I heard a like a rattle at idle coming from under bonnet, sounded like exhaust or something. Any ideas? Is it just because it was cold because it no longer does it after few seconds of runing. even after engine became cold again.

Do a forum search on this - I seem to remember reading a couple of threads about it and think the outcome. Was that a rattling noise on a cold start up was common and normal ( but not positive)

Just kidding. Have you been through any big puddles recently? My guess would be a bent heat shield touching another metallic object under the car.

The heat sheilds are made from very thin metal and are easily bent out of shape.

My inial thought. But had a look and cant see anything bent. Must have just been a cold rattle, because was a very cold night and isnt ratleing anymore.
