When was the particulate filter first used in the 1.9 tdi ? Sorry if this has come up before.

I did try searching this topic before posting this question.

In the UK the 1.9 TDi fitted in the Octavia never had a DPF.

There are 2010 1.9's on ebay. I am suprised they don't have a DPF, but I am pleased any way judging by the problems some people have : )

Thanks for your help Silver1011.

It does seem strange why the 1.9 TDi fitted to the Octavia never got the DPF.

Especially when the 1.9 TDi in the current model Superb did. I think the Roomster got it too? The VW Golf can be had in 1.9 format with a DPF also.

This makes the Octavia much more desirable in my eyes, the DPF may be better for the environment in the fact it emits less harmful substances, but it uses more fuel and can be problematic.

Not quite enough ummpphh for me at 105bhp but a damn sight more reliable than my 2.0 TDi DPF.

Good luck with the search.

I like Anthracite, and Elegance trim too so plenty of creature comforts...

Well, i am considering between the Roomster and Octavia 1.9 tdi. The Roomster is definitely different in looks and i like the idea of the glass roof, but the Octavia seems to have better handling and also seems have better reliability record.

Will have to see !

Thanks again for your help.
