I've had my fab a few weeks now and I've discovered that my fuel cap doesn't lock. The rest of the central locking is normal except for that.

Any ideas how I can fix or replace this so it does lock?

My fab is an 04 plate vRS

If the fuel cap isn't clicking shut, (which has recently happened to mine) then follow this guide:

When it clicks shut properly, then it's classed as being locked.

The fuel cap isn't linked to the central locking system in the first place...

Most probably a loose cable connection as noted on the topic already mentioned - here's a picture of mine too

Finally got around to having a look and there's no cable there at all...

Help?!?

Ok have found the cable. Previous owner had tucked it into the rear light. Have plugged it in and wiggled it around but my fuel flap still won't actually shut. Looks like its closed but can be just opened by hand. Any ideas?

Right another update. Just had a look on the other topic that was linked. My cable doesn't have a spring on it so I'm guessing that's why it still isn't working. Sound about right?

Yeah sounds about right. Just have to get a spring fit it and then see if the fuel cap shuts

Yeah fitted a spring and the black plunger type part that had also fallen on and now is as good as new
