The rain and floods you are encountering are shown on all news channels here,so I can Imagine its quite severe and not in good timing being Christmas Eve.

I can't comment on the driving, but I'm currently sat at Manchester Airport wilmslow lounge awaiting a delayed Xmas day flight to jo'burg.
