Vrs just been in to garage as the engine management system light was on, they found a small problem with a sensor. I told them that I occassionally get a lack of Turbo boost and that I have to stop the car turn the engine off and that everything then is OK once more. The reply was that it was a known fault that the Turbo is overboosting so the engine management system shuts down the turbo, is this true and is it true that the only way to cure it is to have a complete new Turbo.

I hope it's cheaper then that.

Did you get the error code off the tech at the dealer....would be helpful for those in the know.

Yep the error code would help but it sounds like it's gone in to limp mode. Has the car been chipped/remapped etc. New turbo sounds a bit drastic, could be I suppose. Any white/blue smoke out the exhaust.

Sounds like 17705 fault. Do a search for that and you will find a lot of info. Or do the same on Seatcupra net.
