doors unlocking/windows dropping by itself!

Featured Replies

Ok,over the last few days my 2011 vrs has started misbehaving....

Every few days on the driveway (and nowhere else) it will unlock itself and drop the front windows (as if the unlock remote had been held down)

First time last Tuesday 10am,then Thursday 6pm and then yesterday (christmas day) 4pm.Last Tuesday I thought was a one off but Thursday it let all the rain in.

I suspected maybe stray signal from somewhere but last Tuesday all neighbours were at work. Then I thought maybe remote accidentally held in (either pocket or spare in drawer) but yesterday both remotes were on their own on a window ledge.

Ive dropped both windows to bottom with fob, then held in to raise them but that was before yesterdays mishap

Has anyone heard of this?Ive seen other thread probs but usually with windows not working etc

Could the unlock/windows down function be disabled by the dealer and would warranty cover it?

At the mo Ive put the normal fob at me mams and am using spare in case one fob is iffy

Any ideas, before my car gets nicked or soaked?

Just to put the fobs out of reach of the car to eliminate them or the car from been the problem.

As the car is insecure I'd say it warrants a Skoda Assist call out. Make sure you get a proper Skoda guy though (even if you have to wait) rather than a AA/RAC guy how doesn't have the right diags.

Theres is,quite right. And after reading them it dont look like an easy fix either so god knows where this is going.

I must admit to being disappointed with Skoda at the mo.When I was at school the Skoda brand was a joke.In 2006 when I bought my mk1 Fabia it never put a foot wrong in 4 years. And although I realise other owners have had problems it just seems to me Skoda are resting on their laurels at the moment.

Thats 2 mk2 fabias Ive had now and both have build quality from 25 years ago! Not to mention the whole oil usage thing that seems so (un)popular

I hate to say it,but this will probably be the last vw group car I own - although I havent given up yet
