Build weeks and delivery times

Featured Replies

I have a query with a Fabia vRS that I have ordered and hope that someone who knows the workings of a dealership could offer some advice.

I ordered a black Fabia vRS from a Skoda main dealer but said that I needed it with the airbag de-activation switch. I also said that if it was going to take several months then not to put in a factory order as I would have a look around elsewhere. The dealer then came back to me and said that he had found a dealer that had agreed to transfer it into their stock but that it also had cruise control, I agreed to pay for this and was then told that it was on build week 20, which he told me is the week 16-20 May 2005.

Now this is where I am not sure is that if he is getting it transferred to him from another dealership, how come it is still to be built? Is this normal procedure and if this is the case that it is being built this week, how long roughly will it take to be delivered?

Many thanks again for any help.

Regards

Alan

if it wasnt already built then why did you have to have the cruise control?

took 2/3 weeks for mine from ordering so i reckon you shouldnt have to wait more than that. All depends on the docks and how fast the dealer get it. I heard someone else waited quite a while because the dealer couldnt source a transporter (or not enough cars to warrent getting one)

Hi Mike, I guess that is kind of my question, I don't know. The only thing that I could think of myself is that the car had been previously ordered by the other dealer with that spec and that they had agreed to transfer it to my dealer as soon as they receive it. It would explain why the build date was the very same week that I ordered it in I suppose.

Cheers

Alan
