If your neighbour is a person who likes to take her time while driving and is not in a rush all the time, then she has chosen correctly. ASG gear box (Or MMT gear box in Toyota Aygo) are simple, no fuss, slow changing, fuel efficient gear boxes, that are coupled to a normal clutch (same as your car). They do not suit everybody. What you could have done was to drive that car in the manual mode and you would have had a fast changing gear box, which is more fun and besides helps to adjust the automatic clutch mechanism. After some time you might actually like it since it gives you the freedom to go manual or automatic depending on your mood, level of fatigue, traffic congestion etc.
