in car camera

Featured Replies

I'm looking at buying a Night Vision Car Dashboard Camera for my Yeti, mainly for security purposes, as it's parked on a busy street at night, not always outside my home. The main reason, is to hopefully catch the little turd who is randomly leaving screws (always the same type) under the tyres

I noticed this on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3375e739ff

Just wondering if anyone has this camera, or something similar? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks Graham, I'll have a read.

Some cameras have a movement sensor.

So it starts to record if something moves in it's field of vision, it doesn't have to rely on G from an accident.

I know the 400v2 does, not sure on the 380.

Not sure how much movment is needed to trigger it though, but you could call someone that sells them and ask.

Raindrops down the windscreen are enough to trigger recording on the 400, at least at its default settings! It's very sensitive, though does need some ambient light. If it's on a busy street every passing car will trigger it, so you're likely to get continuous recording anyway. Quality with street lights and house/shop lights is pretty good.

I think there is no ideal solution for your situation with the car cameras in the markets, generally the night vision function (camera embedded with IR LEDs) do not perform perfectly in darkness as the IR LEDs are not power enough.I am using this one (similar to the item you attached http://www.szswill.com/car-camera-hd/dashboard-camera-d230.html) for nearly half a year, works perfectly in the day but not so good at night, for your problem, maybe you need one with "motion detective" and support "park mode" functions, but another problem is that the power supply, the battery embedded can not last long, only about 2-3 hours when auto shut down...
