Suspension / FARB question (for the guru's)

Featured Replies

Basically i had an octavia vrs fitted with kw suspension (front arb connected to front coilover units via long drop links)

I then bought a mk1 leon fr tdi and i know its not recommended but i fitted the octavia kw coilovers to it. Rides surprisingly well believe it or not.

Only issue was the front arb setup was different. The arb connects by short links to the wishbones. Which is causing issues as my driveshafts now rub on the arb as their isnt enough clearance

So.... I bought some mk4 golf adjustable links but they didnt fit? As the leon is again slightly different..

So to alleviate this issue what do i do?

Can i fit say an octavia vrs front arb and use octavia drop links and connect it to the fixing on my struts as per how the octavia works

Or would it be better getting a front arb with bigger loops and running the arb connected to the wishbone?

And anyways what set-up is better and why do they differ anyways?

Cheers

Mk1 Tt farb job done, goes under drive shaft, connects to existing links, same setup as my octy tdi that had the rubbing arb.p.s the vrs setup will fit too as you are using vrs kw's with the link mount

Yes but surely one setup is better than the other?

Why did they have different setups?

I can get a non name bigger looped farb for £80 comes with nice new bushes too

As your going to have a 28mm rarb on soon makes sense to fit a 23mm tt front jobie and drop links which should make it handle well and solve your problems.good luck :)

Aye Tt one is also 40 quid from dealer so half the price.
