A quick question that some kind soul will know the answer to. My son was insured with Aviva and at renewal time they declined to renew. It is not a decision based on his driving record or where he lives but a business decision. It doesn't not have to be declared as a declination on another insurance application.

It is a high spec electric car which is working well. Has anyone else been declined? Does anyone know exactly why?

Also, take this as a warning that at least one car insurer may not renew or indeed offer you a quote having previously done so.

Most of the proposals I've seen do ask if cover has been declined by others.

I've only been declined once, that was for a vehicle that had been a previous constructive write-off with only cosmetic damage.

Probably best to declare it.
